Faery, Suggestions

This is the tenth of a series of suggestions for re-enchanting your life, one pixie kiss at a time. The introduction is here, and you can watch the path unfold here.

In honour of Imbolc and the signs of spring this week, have a Faery adventure.

Choose a few hours, or a whole day, which you can set aside for an adventure.

Get your coat and bag (if you’ll be taking one) ready before you start. Take cookies.

Apologies for the disarray…

Hi All… I’m finishing off the consolidation process, so if posts or pages look a little repeated, that may well be the case. I’ll be tidying up over the next week and soon will have everything in top shape! Next month I’m planning to transform this blog into my main website, so I’ll be playing with themes and layouts and pages and… well, just playing really!

Till then, apologies for the disarray… and I hope your New Year is getting started happily!

Happy thoughts,

~Halo x

In an effort to streamline everything and make the parts of my life more integrated I am currently importing my other blogs into this one. Until I get everything straightened out, please bear with me!

Until that point this blog is likely to have random extra pages and too many categories.

Thanks for your patience.

blog-award-nomination

“These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these kind writers.”

A very kind nomination by Anne.

Just goes to show what a beautiful, friendly place the blogging world is!

To pass it forward I’d like to take this opportunity to direct you on to these places:
Moon And Raven – A friendly chap chronicles his life, one post at a time.

Moonroot – Beautiful creations ( even better in person) and thoughtful posts on her travels, paganism and the world.
Drawing a Day – This lady has committed herself to doing one drawing a day, and each one is poignant. An inspirational blog for those that would love to be more creative, showing how it is possible to do a little each day!

Spirit Cloth – Its fascinating seeing the glimpses of this blogger’s works in progress, although I’m tempted to say that they’re not so much works, as pieces of her heart.

Three14Creations – Babies, Recipes and Crafts – the recipes sound delicious (although I’m yet to get round to making any), and her other posts are personable and friendly, meet Jan.

Art Dolls Travelling – Not so much one persons blog, as a series of stories of the bringing to life of several art dolls being built by a group of individuals. I’ve nominated this blog because I find the posts so friendly and it brings a smile to my day.

YarnBombing – Again, less a person, and more a movement. What could be more friendly than making jumpers for trees and lampposts? I say, bring on the knitting revolution!

I hope you enjoy meeting these people as much as I have, and this is my way of paying them each back a little for the happy they bring into my life by posting.

PS: Apologies that it has taken me so long to respond to this, I really appreciate the nomination, and am touched by its description, to be seen as friendly is a wonderful thing!

Here is Imbolc!

Snow and roses.

Inspired by Dot‘s Dotee Art Dolls and my day on the 2nd of February, the calender Imbolc, the marker for the beginning of Spring. Imbolc is a small sized Dotee doll hand crafted by me with love. She’ll arrive carefully wrapped with her own portrait, bringing dreams of the summer and memories of the best bits of the winter…

Stay tuned for more pretties…

For the One World, One Heart giveaway, on Thursday 12th February 2009 I drew a name to win Imbolc the Dotee. Unfortunately, AlwaysInspired had not left me with any way of contacting them, so I posted here asking for them to get in touch, and when I didn’t hear from them I redrew the Tuesday afterwards.

AlwaysInspired: I apologise if you come back later and find you’ve missed your chance, hope you had better luck elsewhere!

Welcome to my blog!

I hope you find something to inspire or enjoy. 🙂

This will be growing, and over the next few days I intend to post about One World, One Heart, and include my giveaway, so please check back if you’d like to join in with a chance to win something (I haven’t decided what I’m making yet! Really must get to it…)

I have a couple of other blogs if you’re interested (see the box to the right of this post that says ‘My Other Places’.)

Enjoy!

Today we have snow!!! This is a rare and precious thing for Britain. Unfortunately we’re not quite able to cope with it! Ah well, I’m enjoying it muchly and have some pictures which I’ll be uploading shortly for your delectation.

I also took the plunge and, after 7 years of insisting I can’t keep pot plants alive, I bought some potted flowers, a red rose bush, and a yellow rose bush (both less than a foot tall) so now I really feel like the dreams I’ve had the past couple of nights (where I’ve insisted to other dream characters that I have a rose garden) are coming true! And this makes me very happy.

ROSES! And SNOW! Yay!

*is easily amused* 🙂

And so it begins…

gift, introduction, reasons

I might, if I let myself, wonder why I’ve decided to start another blog.

So, before I ask too hard and decide to delete it and save myself the time, let me list the reasons, for myself, and for my guests.

I’ve been reading several crafty blogs recently, and I’ve really enjoyed seeing peoples creations, but more than that, the thought processes and inspirations that they discover, so I am allowing myself some space to muse on my own thoughts and inspirations.

In a similar vein, I kinda want to offer something back to those people who I have found inspirational, and to share with others in a similar position to me.

I have an LJ for random, ‘this-is-whats-happening’ posts, Devaintart for artworks and somewhere on blogspot for just short stories, but nowhere for my more crafty things. As I’d like to put all my creativity in one place somewhat, I thought I’d better find a place to do it.

Finally, this is an act of magic. By gifting myself with this space, and opening up to share with anyone who wants to share with me, I hope to let my creativity really flower.

So, yeah, this is for anything creative I do or think, and for anything inspirational I find that I’d like to share. If anyone wanders through and would like to share, please do.

Hope I can give something back to those that have inspired me, and that this can be a place where I can increase, by just a little, the amount of beauty and delight in the world.
