Press & Media

Halo is a Dr of philosophy, a pagan author, a song-witch, and a changeling bard who calls Wales home. They have been practising and teaching magic for over 25 years and know that the world is enchanted, and that we are here for more beauty, pleasure, and play than we imagine.

Led deep into the wilds of Wales by dreams and wandering words, Halo Quin has been a practising Faery Witch since childhood. Their magic has always focused on listening to the spirits of the land, an animistic path which introduced them to the Welsh deities, with an embodied approach to their craft.

They are a devotee of the Faery Queen, Priestex of Freya and the Red Goddesses, and a sensual witch exploring the divine erotic and sacred nature of pleasure and beauty, in order to (re)enchant the world.

With a PhD in the philosophy of storytelling, Halo has told tales in an Iron Age roundhouse, on a stage before 100 pagans, in the forest, for the Chinese New Year, in storytelling circles, in ritual, and in more places than they can recall. They also host the local Storytelling Circle, Fables, and an annual Spring event, “The Goblin Masquerade” in West Wales, a fantastical, steampunk-inspired, community event for connecting creative people.

Through art, writing, music, teaching, and community, Halo is here to help magical, neuro-divergent people, and other wonderfully wyrd misfits, to experience life as magical.

Halo is a Reclaiming and Feri witch, Druid of the Druid grade in OBOD, and the founder of the Crimson Coven and The Enchanted Academy. They co-founded Dragonrise Witchcamp in 2009 and their books include “Gods and Goddesses of Wales“, “Faeries, Folktales, and Spirits” and “Crimson Craft – sexual magic for the solo witch“.

In their other life, Halo also guest lectures in academia on ADHD, neurodiversity, storytelling, and philosophy, which leads to even more adventures and interesting people.

Halo Quin is a sensual song-witch living in the wild West of Wales, weaving mythpunk pagan folktronica with industrial, bone-deep beats and sensual vocals, and acapella storytelling filk with a playfully dark sense of humour, inviting you back into the temple of your heart and the magic of your soul.

What People Say

On Halo’s Storytelling:

Halo brought our Storytelling Café to life during Edinburgh Tradfest with an amazing pop-up performance of off-the-cuff stories!

Daniel Abercrombie, Scottish Storytelling Centre

‘Halo is indeed a healer with her stories… Halo is preserving something priceless and very powerful that could otherwise be lost’.

Anna (read more here)

Within minutes Halo knows how to transport you from the here and now to times gone by… Halo’s ability to project her voice was amazing. All in all a wonderful afternoon.

Linda Marson, Gothic Image Tours

On the magic of The Crimson Coven:

Sensuality and sexuality can be challenging subjects, and so many people experience wounding in that aspect of their lives. It’s good to have gentle safe space for mutual support. I’ve found this group empowering and uplifting, and it’s been really helpful to me.
